Hot Chip - Made In The Dark
When the band Hot Chip comes to mind one word just isn't enough to describe them however quirky, rhythmic, and poppy may be a good start. The band hailing from London released Made in the Dark on February 8, 2008 and is the 3rd album. They started out in 2000 and have performed at festivals including Lollapalooza in 2006 as well as Coachella in 2007 and 2008. The album over all has a nice blend of synthpop and indie rock along with a few soulful surprises here and there. Each song has its own original take and definitely no two are the same but there is still a sense of unity. Their poignant lyrics reflect a bitter honesty however the music itself, for most songs, is more or less upbeat. This is a band that knows how to capture listener's attention and have them coming back for more. I would recommend Shake a Fist, Ready for the Floor, and Hold on to any first time listeners; because these are the songs that stood out the most and kept playing on repeat in my head.
